My Ghetto-ness

The other day my sister, a friend, and I were talking about how we are slightly food snobs. We love good food and cringe when things are not done properly (ie - whisk the heck out of pancake batter only to produce a chewy, leather product). But, we also were talking about our "ghetto" guilty pleasure. One mentioned gloppy from the packet Ranch dressing, my mom's - ketchup (on anything Mexican). Mine? Fake maple syrup. I tried the ultimate real, dark amber stuff. I wasn't that big of a fan. I like the fake, from corn syrup stuff. Don't judge me too much. What is your ghetto pleasure? Come on, we all have one.

PS - maybe I should start with the light amber maple syrup, maybe it won't taste so... earthy.

I totally feel that way about chocolate chip cookies. Give me one made from store bought dough (the kind you break off in squares) any day of the week.

Most of my ghetto pleasures are just time savers. Like Packaged taco mix...yeah, I could just add fresh cumin, chili powder, garlic, and onion, etc. But throwing in a package of MSG ridden "mexi" flavor is much easier!

I am slso a fan of packaged pudding mix, puffed cheetos, and the VERY occasional box of mac and cheese:)

oh...and starburst. You left three at my house and I gobbled them up.

And...I like Prego. (kind of embarrassed to admit that...)

Pasta Roni Shells & White Cheddar. I call it "Crack & Cheese." Won't let myself buy it too often though - whatever highly addictive substance they put in it cannot be good for me!

(It's good to know I'm not the only foodie who has these weaknesses. Thank you for bringing up this issue, ha!)
