Thinking about...

... what to post today. At first I was going to respond to the comment left here. Then I decided to ignore the meanness. Then I was going to make something truly gourmet to show him/her. But then I decided to share a treat to show that I truly love ghetto foods.

But you must try this recipe before bashing it. It is my Grandma's recipe and it is delicious.

Grandma's Chocolate Treats
2 cups Peanut Butter Captain Crunch cereal
1 1/2 cup Peanuts
2 cups pretzel sticks, broken a bit
dipping chocolate

your ingredients (you will need more chocolate than that)

Mix cereal, peanuts, and pretzels in a mixing bowl.

break your pretzels more than that.

Mix chocolate in microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until melted. Careful - it can scorch in the microwave. Pour over cereal mixture, stir until completely coated. Spoon into clumps and place on waxed paper until cooled.

this was my first batch and I didn't have quite enough chocolate... learn from my mistake.

Voila! (that's how much chocolate you want - this is semi-sweet chocolate, above is milk, use what you want.)

I'll attest to these! They are my favorite!

I hate mean anon commenters.

Those look fantastic. I'm sorry you got a mean comment. I would delete it if I were you...there's no excuse for that negativity.

Hi Sarah, I found your blog through This Week for Dinner and think it's fantastic. I also read that mean comment and wanted to leave you a nice one to counteract it. :-)

Thanks Hillary -- Even though it was mean and I was kind of shocked when it was written... I think it's funny now.

I agree, that was a mean-spirited comment, not even worthy of publication. I have all the comments sent to my email and screen them before they are posted.

Good for you for taking the high road and making foods that you and your family enjoy. Hawaiian Haystacks are a favorite here in Utah!

I have been reading your blog for a long time and I wanted to tell you how helpful it has been for me. It has made me feel more confident in the kitchen!I am a kitchen disaster and usually stick to the same five recipes. Your steps are always very clear and the pictures really help me feel inspired to branch out. Ignore mean comments! You rock!

Are you for real? What is the point of tearing someone down like that. Ridiculous! LOVE that you posted this recipe as a response.

And for the record, I came on here today to tell you we made vomit for dinner last night and loved it. But we're kind of ghetto like that.

Steffy - that's the nicest comment I think I have had yet. Thanks! I am glad this blog has helped at least one person.

vomit? is the "anonymous" kidding? I've only been reading your blog for a short while and I can't get enough of these recipes I want to try them all!! That's a dangerous thing for me. The meatballs were so good and the sauce so interesting I had to try it at 10:30 at night. Keep it going blogger friend :)
